Project Assessment (cont'd.)

Subsequently, we outline a prescription for correction that the client might undertake as follows:
- On your own with your existing staff
- With Transition Partners oversight
- With Transition Partners Project Management
Case Studies
“Wish we had listened”– We quickly identified “show stoppers” on a three-year $100 million project that was just beginning. The client ignored the analysis and subsequently delivered only 50% of the functionality with a 30% cost overrun. Two years later, the Vice Chairman said: “your analysis was totally correct; we should have listened.”
“And we’re happy that we did!”– A CEO was concerned about whether his IT group could build a sophisticated web portal for the firm’s diverse users. The outside firm his IT shop hired failed, and the project was re-started with internal resources. Transition Partners’ review determined that the CEO’s concerns were well founded. He accepted our recommendations regarding key staff changes and process improvements that served firm-wide interests on subsequent key projects.
